ARTIST NOTES: “Kumul”, as it’s known in Papua New Guinea is this Reggiana bird of Paradise. It is a bird so colorful and unique and can only be found on the island of Papua (West Papua and Papua New Guinea). Captured in this artwork are the beauties of this bird represented in the contemporary designs of Papua New Guinea and few adopted from other small pacific island nations.
