Alison grew up in Hobart where she developed an early interest in art - especially drawing and etching - together with a love of the Tasmanian bush and coastal landscape.
Having established a career in the law and taken time to have a family in Melbourne, Alison has since immersed herself in her Still Life and Landscape painting practice.
Alison continues to be inspired by regular "Shack" time spent with her family on the East Coast of Tasmania and frequent bushwalking adventures in remote and wild places in Tasmania and beyond.
'I am drawn to and inspired by the natural environment. My practice explores this positive response to landscape and natural forms. I aim to capture and convey the essence of the subject particularly though the use of colour, brushstrokes, mark making and movement.'
