The Edge Of The Wave by Inese Edwards

ARTIST NOTES: The inspiration for this work was a glorious beach walk in Western Australia . There was a calm feeling and beautiful clean sand with the waves lapping and sending up spray. A beautiful spot. The painting has been framed with a slim edge of Tasmanian Oak in a slightly rustic style reminiscent of the colour of driftwood. I have another sea painting in my gallery in a similar style, size and colours , called Before the Storm , which could be a matching pair if desired.

ARTIST BIO

 Inese Edwarsa - Melbourne Artistst

I have worked with various media including pastels, water colour , and particularly oils.  I have also  tried other media in the form of resin paints, acrylics and alcohol inks, which lend themselves perfectly to abstract work. I have really enjoying painting pieces in fluid acrylics creating organinc and cell like structures and experimenting with the magical effects of these.

Currently I am fascinated with Australian eucalyptus trees , flowers and seed pods , which are particularly beautiful and I paint these in oils.

I also like to paint close up images of flowers and fruits and I like the effect of shine and transparency and light, sun and shadows. I like bold colours and abstract shapes and forms, and the abstract flow of paint and the surprises it leads me to.

I also like to do smaller pieces  and designs which I call minis, and creating hand painted mini pieces for greeting cards. A lot of my art and designs can be viewed on Instagram under @artplusart_inese.edwards

My work can also be found on Pinterest under Inese Edwards.

I have exhibited my paintings in approximately 23 shows including Melbourne and regional.
