ARTIST NOTES: This art work is a fusion of Indian indegenous Warli style of art & the modern Melbourne sensibility & contemporary scenario revolving around Fed Square 'Vibrance' is about my experiences at the iconic Fed Square in Melbourne. The feelings & emotions evoked by this contemporary piece of architecture & the events held at this public space are those of joy & celebration of a very Vibrant culture with people of diverse backgrounds, especially when you are in its vicinity & experience everything around it-the food, the culture, the people, the history.

ARTIST BIO

Rashmi is a graduate of Architecture from Sir JJ College of Architecture in Mumbai. She is a versatile artist who creates paintings & sketches in various mediums, in a range of genres of contemporary art including Portraiture, Still life and Landscape.

She specialises in Indian folk-art styles like Warli & Madhubani and has displayed her artwork in various exhibitions. Rashmi is an active member of IAA (Indian Australian Artists) and Melbourne Urban Sketchers group.

She runs art classes (ART n EASEL) & has more than 10 years of teaching experience in Art & Architecture. Rashmi is also an International Certified Yoga teacher & the Founder of Sanjeevani Yoga in Melbourne.

She had her Architecture & Interior Design firm (Imaginations Unlimited) in India & successfully completed several projects.

Rashmi’s art has been recognized in various forums, the most recent ones being ‘People’s choice –Commendable art work’ award at IAA exhibition in Nov 2017, ‘Best Art in Show’- Feb 2018 (Celebrating women-IAA)
